Queer Pride 2024
Queer: 1) An umbrella term sometimes used by LGBTQA people to refer to the entire LGBT community. 2) An alternative that some people use to “queer” the idea of the labels and categories such as lesbian, gay, bisexual, etc. Similar to the concept of genderqueer. It is important to note that the word queer is an in-group term and a word that can be considered offensive to some people, depending on their generation, geographic location, and relationship with the word.

Velvet Ibiza Festival – Velvet Ibiza, the all-inclusive 4-day/4-night party, has, in only a few years, become a holy ground for queer women who continue to descend on the pine-covered isle to enjoy one of the most life-changing and bonding experiences. Created and (ever since) produced by Carine De Mesmaeker – the mastermind behind Velvet Sixty Nine, one of Europe’s biggest LGBTQ+ Women parties in Brussels, Belgium – Velvet Ibiza made history in its inception year (2015) by being the first ever queer women event held in the small Balearic island famously known for its LGBTQ-friendly culture, its vibrant nightlife scene, and celebrity sighting. Sonoma County Pride -We are a diverse group throughout Sonoma County. We must speak as one unified voice to accomplish our goals while promoting the Russian River or other Sonoma County LGBT tourist areas. KCC Gay-Straight Alliance Rainbow Run 5K – Join us in a fun festive 5k race that celebrates diversity, happiness, and a community of acceptance. Walk, Jog, or Run and have the time of your life in this untimed 5k in which contestants will be doused head to toe in different colored powder at each kilometer. The finish line includes a rainbow rally where colors explode over the entire crowd. Enjoy music and refreshments after you finish the race. All ages are welcome. Queer City Cinema – Queer City Cinema Inc. (based in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada) was initiated in 1996 as a biennial film and video festival and has, over the years, come to program both media art and performance art. The organization now presents two festivals annually – Performatorium: Festival of Queer Performance and Queer City Cinema: Media Arts Festival. These two festivals comprise the two main activities of the organization. Other act ivies that have occurred are tours of media art since 2000 with the most recent being a coast-to-coast tour in Canada in 2011. XPOSED International Queer Film Festival – Originally, the International Queer Short Film Festival was launched to the public in Berlin to present queer short films from Australia.
