Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride (Gay Pride) is celebrated yearly to honor the 1969 Stonewall Riots in Manhattan. The Stonewall Riots were a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States.

Lavender Law Conference and Career Fair – LGBT Bar Annual Conference & Career Fair. The National LGBT Bar Association’s annual Lavender Law® Career Fair is designed to achieve a sense of community and inclusion for LGBT candidates within the legal profession’s recruiting efforts. Antwerp Pride – Antwerp is probably one of the world's most open and tolerant cities regarding gay rights and accepting the gay lifestyle. Although it’s a rather small city (population 600.000), it hosts numerous gay shops, venues, and events, including the famous Red & Blue nightclub, cruising bar The Boots, and the Antwerp Pride weekend. CSD Madgeburg – The Christopher Street Day (CSD) is a party, commemoration, and demonstration by and for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people. In Magdeburg, CSD has been celebrated for many years – as a colorful and peaceful demonstration for equal rights and against discrimination and exclusion. Lesbian and Gay Festival Park in Friedrichshain – Friedrichshain Park is one of Berlin's largest urban parks created specifically for recreation. Since 1998, the one-day Park Lesbian and Gay Festival has been held in August. Although this force is now up to 6000 visitors, listening on picnic blankets to the diverse program, including information on the many information booths about gay and lesbian life in Berlin, the Park festival has retained its character of an informal neighborhood meeting. Here, many gays and lesbians get the last look of the CSD season, and more and more come with the strollers and for tolerance and against discrimination. The event is to promote tolerance and speaks clearly of discrimination against gays and lesbians, with no long speeches but with a varied stage program, numerous information stands, and the space necessary to come up with nice people this week. Copenhagen Pride – During Copenhagen Pride Week, one of the scenic city squares of Copenhagen is transformed into Pride Square, a sanctuary for LGBT culture. Pride Square was born more than a decade ago – only then was it named Pride Village. ELLA, the “International Lesbian Festival” – Besides a planned film festival, it includes a conference with international participation to protect the rights of lesbians and LGBTI. Lesbians worldwide enjoy nine days of the festival, with beach parties and sports events during the day. With its convenient accessibility to Mallorca, ELLA is certainly the most international of the European Women’s festivals, though last time, pleasantly, many Spaniards were among the 1,500 guests. Pride Charlotte – Charlotte Pride presents the annual lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, and queer (LGBTQ) Pride festival and other events in Queen City. Edmonton Pride Festival – Edmonton’s first Pride celebration took place in 1980 and has grown from a small celebration of 75 people who enjoyed a baseball game followed by a campfire. Events added in the past 29 years have included rallies and fairs, poetry readings, art shows, picnics, croquet tournaments, baseball games, a film festival, the parade, and Celebration on the Square. Southern Decadence – Southern Decadence started forty-four years ago as a simple going-away party. As a top gay Labor Day Weekend destination, it has become one of our world’s major annual events. Stavanger Pride – Stavanger skeivå (SPS), a festival whose aim is to break down prejudice and ignorance, as well as create a more open dialogue between heterosexuals and LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people). SPS is one of the largest LGBT festivals in Norway and also one of those that has distinguished itself as the strongest. The focus on athletes has been debated in the main press and television. Creativity has brought the festival to David Letterman Mans's talk show in the form of soda “Homo Light.” Most importantly, for many, it is perhaps still social. The Main Feast, “Skeivånattå,» gathers every year around 500 partygoers, gays and lesbians. When is Gay Pride?
Gay Pride or LGBT Pride is the celebration of who we are. Pride allows us to take a stand against discrimination and violence toward lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people and to promote self-affirmation, dignity, equality rights, increased visibility, and build community. At the same time, we celebrate sexual diversity and gender variance.
